Cheap AV Media Streamer @ geeks.com
Posted on Thursday, October 19 @ 18:56:50 PDT by lincomatic

Audio & Video Tips There's a good deal at geeks.com on the ADS Tech Media-Link MXL-581 AV media streamer, photo viewer, web browser ...

The ADS Media Link MXL-581 can be had for $49.95 using savings code ADSMXL. This media streamer supports video and audio streaming, photo viewing, and can play Internet radio streams. I ordered mine yesterday, and it arrived today (wow, geeks ships quickly). It sports DVI, component video, S-Video, and composite video outputs. For audio, stereo analog outputs, as well as both RCA and optical S/PDIF connections. Network connectivity is provided via 100BT ethernet, or the included 802.11g PCMCIA card.

I've barely had time to test it, but so far, the video streams flawlessly w/o a glitch. I'm not sure if it's UPnP-compliant or not. I'll most more info after I've had a chance to exercise it more. This product has been discontinued by the manufacturer, but I don't know of any other wireless AV streamer available at this blowout price.
